We are looking for a Senior Data GCP Engineer to join our team. You will be embedded with one of our key clients, a globally renowned retail company and worldwide leader in its industry, with a focus on ensuring their data availability, integrity and security within a GCP-first environment.

What you’ll do

1. 01Build and maintain ETL processes within Google Cloud to ensure efficient and reliable data integration.
2. 02Design and implement database schemas and write queries to retrieve and manipulate data.
3. 03Create data pipelines using Airflow, dbt and the broader GCP suite including BigQuery, Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Vertex AI and Cloud Build.
4. 04Use Python and Bash scripting to automate data workflows and processes.
5. 05Implement containerisation with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes for the deployment and management of data applications.
6. 06Work closely with data scientists, analysts and other stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into solutions.

What you’ll bring

• At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, big data and data warehousing.
• Hands-on experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools, particularly Airflow and dbt.
• Good knowledge of data storage and data processing principles.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Solid experience with Google Cloud Platform or other major cloud providers.
• Good communication skills and fluency in English. French is a plus.
